Terrific Teamwork
The first thing your team needs to do is work out how you will work together to get your project finished. There are three parts to this page of the website:
- develop a team Code of Conduct
- work out which tasks each team member will be responsible for
- develop a schedule for completing the project
Code of Conduct
So, what is a Code of Conduct?
A Code of Conduct is a set of rules or guidelines for how your team will work together successfully. Your team will need to agree to the rules and follow them throughout your work together.
Your team will need to develop rules for the following:

A Code of Conduct is a set of rules or guidelines for how your team will work together successfully. Your team will need to agree to the rules and follow them throughout your work together.
Your team will need to develop rules for the following:
- communicating with each other - how will you make sure everyone communicates fairly and respectfully?
- making decisions - how will your team make fair decisions about your project?
- resolving conflict - if problems occur how will your team solve them fairly?

So, now that you know what teamwork is and why it is so important when working in a group, your team needs to come up with the rules that will become your Code of Conduct.

Allocating Tasks
Identifying Tasks
To work successfully in a team, it is important for each team member to know what is expected of themselves and other members of the team. This means your team needs to assign tasks to each member. As a team, you first need to decide what the tasks are. You will need to make yourself familiar with each part of this project (Teamwork, Researching and Digital Presentation), and identify what tasks or things need to be done for each part of the project.
Identifying Strengths
Not everyone has the same strengths. You might find that some members of your team are really good at taking notes while researching or have a great sense of how to make things look great. Working out the strengths of each team member will help you to decide who should do each task. If someone is really great at proofreading, then why not allocate them the task of doing the final check of your digital presentation?
Being Fair
Some tasks are not as exciting as others, so it is important to make sure everyone has a task that they like doing. Some tasks may be quite difficult or take a lot of time, so your team might decide to allocate this task to two or more members. The most important thing is to make sure each team member has an equal share of tasks, or if they have a really difficult task, they may have less tasks because they are already doing quite a lot of work. It is up to your team to agree upon and decide what is fair for everyone.

Schedule for Successful Completion
It can be hard organising your time to complete a project over a length of time, and working with other people can make it even harder. So, how can you make sure all your team's tasks and the final digital presentation are completed on time, without a big panicked rush at the end? By making an ordered timeline or schedule of when all your tasks will need to be completed.
This short video explains the importance of time management, what a timeline or schedule is and why it is important to develop a project schedule. |

Okay, so time management is essential for making sure your project is completed on time. And the best way to do that is to develop a project schedule - a guide for how and when each part of your project will be completed. But how do you create a project schedule and what should you include in it?
This next video will tell you about some of the vital things that should be included in a project schedule. Discuss with your team how these things will relate specifically to your team's project. |

There are a few things that your team will need to consider when developing your project schedule:

- tasks to be completed and the person/s responsible for them - this comes from your task allocation
- the order each task will need to be completed - you cannot begin your digital presentation before researching
- the resources you will need - computer/tablets, pencils and notebooks, useful web addresses, etc
- start and finish dates for each task - estimate reasonable and achievable dates for completion
